POSITION TITLE: Director of Experiential Learning 

DEPARTMENT: Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership (KBSOBEL) in the College of Arts, Sciences and Business 

POSITION STATUS: Full-Time (9-month) 

POSITION REPORTS TO: KBSOBEL Division Director 

 

JOB SUMMARY: With consultation of the KBSOBEL Division Director, the position serves as the primary coordinating liaison between internal KBSoBEL Faculty and other USF coordination offices such as Marketing, Career Services, other College Program Directors, and Amp Lab, 3DE, and other external business and academic organizations. Position has a two-course teaching load per semester and other appropriate business-related courses as needed. This is a 9-month full-time position with the option for Tenure or non-Tenure track. 

 

Major Responsibilities/Activities  

  • Adheres to all university academic and employment policies identified in the Employee and Faculty handbooks and academic catalogs. 
  • Respects the moral and religious beliefs of the university and students; uses discretion when expressing personal beliefs and views.  
  • Teaches two courses per semester.  
  • Meet regularly with Admissions and Marketing to discuss and coordinate strategy and synergies. 
  • Plans, prepares, and conducts event planning, such as the Annual Business Symposium, Honors Convocation, Accepted Students Day, Student Appreciation events, Annual Career Fair. coordination, and events requested by the Program Directors. 
  • Attends college, division, program, and university meetings as requested.  
  • Coordinate and promote programming for KBSoBEL student clubs. 
  • Manage the original Experiential Program in Integrative Cooperatives (EPIC) Minor Teach Out Plan. 
  • Coordinate with the Administrative Assistant to update SharePoint and division announcements. 
  • Coordinate Student Advisory Board with Program Directors. 
  • Organize and execute Busse Talks. 
  • Maintain FWCS Amp Lab relationship in coordination with Division and Program Directors. 
  • Supervise Work Study students. 
  • Promote Orr Fellowship and other academic and experiential opportunities. 
  • Coordinate with the Women in Business Society Club. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Division Director or college Dean.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Education  

Align with one of the following: 

  • Master’s degree in an area of business required; leadership preferred; terminal degree preferred. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in an area of business. Must have completed 18 graduate credit hours in leadership or management. 

Experience   

Align with one of the following: 

  • Professional work experience preferred. 

Knowledge and Skills  

  • Demonstrates competence in educational principles, instructional methods, evaluation techniques and technology used in higher education classrooms, laboratory, and clinical settings.  
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the profession including theory and practice, procedures, and regulations. 
  • Demonstrates proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and electronic) necessary to interact effectively with students, faculty, professional staff, administration, clinical affiliates, and the community. 
  • Demonstrates skill in goal setting and team building. 
  • Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills to plan, implement, and evaluate program activities. 
  • Demonstrates honesty and loyalty to the University and support its mission and religious affiliation. 
  • Demonstrates ability to coordinate services to the needs of diverse populations within the time and financial limits of the institution. 
  • Must be willing to work irregular, and sometimes long hours, including weekends and university breaks. 

Licenses or certifications  

  • Executive leadership certificate preferred.
